Thanks for visiting my Cronulla electorate website!
The job of state government is to build modern infrastructure, provide strong frontline services and protect the environment, the vulnerable and the community more generally.
Most of us are struggling with the cost of living, including from rising grocery prices, rents, interest rates, energy bills and insurance premiums.
Our challenges are huge. Our younger generations face being the first since European settlement to be worse off than their parents. Crippling housing prices, the result of demand from high population growth and inadequate supply (worsened by record State government taxes and charges), are destroying the dream of home ownership. An unfair tax system is failing to reward effort or provide enough opportunity to get ahead in life.
We can see locally the benefits of the extraordinary transformation under the previous NSW Liberal Government. For example:
- $350 million upgrade of Sutherland and St George Hospitals (completed)
- $45 million upgrade of Cronulla High School
- Upgrades at all other local public schools
- Fully air conditioned all scheduled train services on the Cronulla line and extra services and faster peak hour services
- Building Stage 1 of the M6 motorway south to Kogarah
- Over $320 million from “poles and wires” to fix hotspots on southern Sydney main roads like the Princes Highway, Kingsway and Taren Point Road
- $30 million fixing other local pinch points including the Gannons Road bridge.
But there’s still a lot more to do.
The current State Government wants to see tens of thousands of extra people living in an unprecedented number of new apartments in the eastern Shire, but has no plan for matching infrastructure, including for Sutherland Hospital, schools, open space, local roads and the T4 train line. It hasn’t announced any significant new local infrastructure since it was elected in 2023.
I’m here to fight for you to get our fair share.
