⚖️ Empowering NSW courts to set aside unfair child abuse settlements builds on earlier reforms:
(a) to remove limitation periods for child abuse claims, and
(b) to abolish the technical legal barriers that allowed some institutions to avoid civil liability.
⚖️ The Child Abuse Royal Commission revealed harrowing stories of child abuse survivors forced to accept unjust financial settlements with powerful institutions.
