Elouera Surf Life Saving Club is celebrating the completion of a $800,000 upgrade, with $320,000 contributed by the NSW Government.
$300,000 of the work was funded through the Surf Club Facility Program, which assists surf life saving clubs across NSW to upgrade, restore and construct facilities. $20,000 was made available through the Community Building Partnership program, which funds local community groups to improve their facilities.
Iβm delighted to see the newly completed ground floor facilities at Elouera.
Our surf lifesaving volunteers are committed to protecting our community, and itβs important they have fit-for-purpose facilities.
I congratulate the Elouera Surf Life Saving Club board for its vision of providing excellent facilities that help its volunteers feel valued.
Club volunteers will benefit from improved amenities, training room, administration office, first aid room and gymnasium.
The upgrade will help the clubβs efforts to be inclusive for everyone, doubling the size of female amenities to provide more change room space for mums and children participating in the clubβs programs.
There have also been improvements to accessible change rooms, which will make it easier for special needs nippers to participate.
The NSW Government has allocated $4 million for the next round of the Surf Club Facility Program, which is now open to applications from surf clubs.
More information about the Surf Club Facility Program is available at www.sport.nsw.gov.au/clubs/grants/SCFP

Gymea Bay Baths are a magical spot - but now increasingly afflicted by water pollution and litter, including because of the huge growth in its popularity as a fishing spot.
I caught up with local residents a few days ago to discuss the issues and possible solutions. ... See MoreSee Less

Thank you for coming down and listening to our concerns Mark. The Gymea Bay residents greatly appreciate it.
Thanks for coming down to Gymea bay ,hopefully something can be done so we can all be proud to take family and friends to our beautiful baths .A place where many of us swim when water clean .thanks
Have the fisheries look into if it is truely a king fish breeding ground. If so, ban it!
Undersized fish being taken there daily and contact with fisheries results in 0 action. The place is always covered in fish guts and garbage relying on locals to clean up tourists mess.
